Based in Helsinki, Finland.
Martin Dahlström-Heuser is a multimedia artist whose ideas are infused with a negative view of human beings and their organisations, resulting in works that often resemble human behaviour experiments. In his works, repetition is confronted with obscenity and vulgarity, as well as the language of the mass media, constantly discussing and imposing subtle forms of violence. In his installations, the viewer's role is purposefully limited by the elements of the composition. In more visually-oriented works, this approach gives way to nearly abstract and dark imagery.
He holds a master's degree in Fine Arts from Valand School of Fine Arts, Gothenburg University, Sweden (2009), and a bachelor's degree in music composition from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil (2004).
