About—Portfolio—CV

Most of my works are videos or video-installations with the occasional use of text and other media. My artistic ideas come very frequently from a negative view on human beings and their organizations, with a look into the human capacity for inhumanity, in a way that is reminiscent of human behaviour experiments. Repetition, which can be related to the visionary experiences of the mystics, is in my works confronted with obscenity and vulgarity, and with the language of the mass media, advertisement, bureaucracy, and politics. This is an art of (and about) conflict and repression.

Martin Heuser holds a bachelor's degree in music composition from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre - Brazil (2004), and a master's degree in Fine Arts with specialization in digital media from the C:Art:Media programme at Valand School of Fine Arts, Gothenburg University, Sweden (2009).
